[Bug] Hero Spellcasting Loop
Did anyone of you experience something similiar?
It seems that Heroes who have offensive spells sometimes get caught in an AI Loop and turn useless for the rest of the battle or even instance (though this is rare).
I mostly had it with Sousuke and Dunkoru. Sousuke was skilled as a Water Elementalist with Glyphes. Not a top notch build but it was there to counter the constant running of mobs.
Dunkoru was skilled as an Antihex Monk with Signet Smiting. Anyways, here is the problem and it starts with two situations. One is totally random the other one is provokable.
1 - Reproduceable Bug
Order your hero towards a location, set him to guard. A second player has a hero on Attack. The hero with attack charges into the battle, the hero which is on guard duty walks a few steps forth and back. Allright he is doing what he should do. But there is a point where he somehow walks far enough and starts casting and this is when he glitches.
It's quite funny, he'll cast a spell and stops. Casts, stops, casts, stops. Again and again. He is not losing any energy there but he isn't doing anything either. He just constantly does his little loop. Annoying side effect: The constant *click* sound when he interrupts his own spell gets annoying - it's triggered roughly 3 times per second when he glitched.
Commands don't work. If you set him to cast another spell he'll just chain interrupt that one instead. If you remove his order he'll still just stand around, trying to get his spell off and outsmarting himself by interrupting it everytime.
If you're lucky he steps out of it when the enemy is dead. If you're not, well happy instance restarting.
2 - Random Bug
Same behavior as before but the starting condition is not yet known to me. This one appears every now and then.
My guess would be that this is a followup problem of the new sensitivity when you're spellcasting and the new AI for Kiting and Movement. The slightest movement, as you know, interrupts the spell you were casting. And the new AI is also bound to move as much as possible. Both of which collide and cause this loop. The hero wants to move but also wants to cast and is getting caught in the decision what to do by starting one routine and then the other one immediately after - rinse, repeat, stuck Hero.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Or other bugs concerning the new heroes? Other than this little annoyance i've not found any severe bugs with heroes. Well their attack setting makes them overly aggresive but that's not really a bug.
